Our Weekend

Our weekend in pictures:

Friday morning, we sent Grammy, Grandmama, Abuelo, and Julie off, and went back to the house.

Toby had fun watching a movie with the doll they had gotten for Naomi.

Then we went for a walk.

We saw LOTS of butterflies.

We also met the man who has the little produce stand and the big garden at the corner of Sand Hill and Shady Ln.

Toby enjoyed it so much, he fell asleep.

We ate most of our meals outside because the weather was so lovely.

On Saturday, we did some weeding in the morning and then took a trip down the road to Susquehannock State Park.

The views were gorgeous, and the trail was pretty easy. Toby enjoyed running around all the wooded areas and looking out over the river.

He also rode in the backpack for the first time in a LONG time.

There was lots of beautiful foliage around. It’s a gorgeous park, and we’ll definitely go back sometime.

Sunday, we went to my midwife’s potluck lunch for all of her homebirthing mamas, and then went to our normal summer Sunday night haunt, Long’s Park.

It rained, but the band was really good.

I got to snuggle with Toby,

and Keith played on his phone and snuggled with Naomi.

We were soaking wet by the end of the night, but it was loads of fun.

Ooh, and one more thing – I was propping Naomi up on Saturday, and realized that she can sit without me holding her!

From Drop Box

She can’t sit up by herself yet, but if you put her there, she’ll stay! My little girl is growing up so quickly!

Hope your weekends were as lovely as ours were.

Adventures in Hershey

Today we decided to tackle Hershey, PA! Grandmama, Abuelo, and Julie hadn’t been, and Mom looks for every excuse to go, so we went! We took a tour of the town on the trolley (saw some friends while we were there).

Trolley’s here!

Toby totally freaked out on the trolley – I think it was a combination of it being high off the ground, rumbly and loud, and him not being in his seat while moving. After about 10 minutes of screaming, though, he calmed down – coincidentally when they were passing around the Hershey Kisses. 😉 He loves those things.

Grandmama and Abuelo and Julie loved the trolley tour, and we headed off to Isaac’s Deli for lunch (mmmm…. sandwiches), then home.

For dinner! (hee hee)

While Keith was grilling dinner, Mom and Toby played with the hose…

All in all, a great day! I’ll be sad to see them leave tomorrow.

Hanging Out

It was a leisurely day today – we spent most of it hanging around the house, playing, snuggling, showing off the garden.

Julie, Grandmama, and I went to the Corn Wagon (our local farmer’s stand) and the grocery store to pick up some supplies for……. dinner!! Grandmama made an AWESOME dinner of arroz con pollo, my favorite. She taught me how to quarter the chicken (it was pretty decimated by the end of things), and mom and Julie and I were her sous-chefs.

Here are some pics from today. So relaxing!

Grandparents and Great-Grandparents

Today was a great, busy day. Toby’s friends Dante (6) and Zoe (2.5) came over to play, while their mother Nean and I went out to lunch with a friend. Toby’s favorite babysitter, Maddie, hung out with them and made sure nobody killed anyone else. It was wonderfully relaxing for us mommies and the kids had lots of fun.

Toby has started potty learning, so we do naked time when I’m having a good day and feeling like I can handle a few accidents. He did SO well today, and gave me a perfect photo op.

Yes, that’s Toby, naked as a jaybird, sanding the walls with his Pop-Pop’s sander. I have such a diligent son.

The highlight of the day, however, was when Grammy, Grandmama, Abuelo, and Aunt Julie came over! There were lots of presents, hugging, and catching up, and I got a fun photo of Nomi and Abuelo before heading out to dinner.

Many more pictures to come in the next couple of days, to be sure!
