The garden has finally started to bear fruit! We picked about 2 dozen cucumbers yesterday, as well as a few squash. The patty-pans are doing nicely (and man, are they yummy on the grill!).

We even saw this little guy, growing through the fence. Yes, the cucumber is supposed to be white – we’ve only been growing heirlooms, and we’re having such a blast with such pretty vegetables. I’ll post a picture of our purple carrots later.
Our biggest surprise was volunteer watermelons in the compost! We went out there yesterday and realized that they weren’t watermelons, they’re……. can you guess?

That’s right! Pumpkins! I can’t wait for fall! Of course, I couldn’t wait for fall BEFORE because this weather has been so gross.
